Job Summary
The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the Maintenance Manager with focus on planning and coordinating preventative maintenance activities with an emphasis on ensuring plans are implemented, documented and accessible for future reference.
They will also ensure that maintenance stores are maintained, organized and replenished.
Shift Schedule Monday - Friday, 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm
Base Salary : $71,000+ annually, based on Experience
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Issue, monitor & close maintenance work orders in our CMMS program
- Co-ordinate with scheduling and maintenance departments to schedule machine outages for PM purposes, ensure that all assigned PM work orders are completed, closed and accurate, co-ordinate repairs / rebuilds for components such as Motors, Drives etc
- Review PM checklist ensuring accuracy, create work orders for outstanding issues and archive documents, update PM checklists as taught
- Keep accurate records of all expenditures related to specific equipment
- Create and Maintain Asset list in CMMS, Inventory management
- Source all parts and shop supplies required, working in conjunction with Plant Buyer
- Investigate part substitution for obsolete SKUs and recommend retrofit alternatives
- Create and maintain spare parts' inventory including min / max levels for all critical parts
- Drop off and pick up parts required for emergency breakdowns, obtain quotes and select vendors based on quality, delivery times and costs
- Work with external vendors to expedite shipment(s)
- Indicate and monitor costly high-risk spare parts comparing to current delivery times; Ensure delivered goods are received, accurate and placed in inventory, Return defective or inaccurate items to vendors
- Prepare (Kitting) parts for maintenance work orders; Project work orders, parts and documentation are included in duties
- Ensure 5-S standards are maintained in all stock rooms
- Track spending on departmental GL codes and ensure that budgetary targets are met
- Track and handle PPE certifications through replacement or retesting
Requirements
- High School diploma or certificate of completion
- 5 years Experience in a Manufacturing Facility required, maintenance environment considered an asset
- Excellent digital literacy, and high proficiency with MS Office, ability to create, modify and adapt Excel worksheet formulas, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking and time-management abilities; Eager to learn and able to adapt quickly to the changing demands with above average mechanical proficiency
- Problem solving skills to take care of parts inventory issues

Working Conditions
Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in the semi-climate controlled Manufacturing environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labour, lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects (50-75 lbs.
standing and walking covers majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades, and accessing some confined spaces.
Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow brings considerable stresses to this position.
