Job Description :
We are looking for a Safety Training Specialist to collaborate with various departments across the Chicago Transit Authority to address their safety and security training needs.
This role involves providing initial training, refresher courses, recertification, and newly designed regulatory-required training
Candidates are encouraged to provide 2 references from previous employers or colleagues who can speak to their qualifications and experience related to this role.
Responsibilities
Train and facilitate assigned safety and security training programs for CTA employees including :
Fall Protection Initial and Refresher
Confined Space Initial and Refresher
Powered Industrial Trucks Initial and Refresher
OSHA 10 / 30 Hour
New Hire Safety Orientation
Other trainings as assigned.
- Maintain certifications required to facilitate training.
- Work at various locations and during assigned weekdays and weekends.
- Multi-level professional communication between departments.
- Using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and various office applications.
- Utilize CTA’s LMS CTA-U Online to enter training data for each facilitated course.
- Complete paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Verify training records integrity and document progress of project.
CERTIFICATIONS / CREDENTIALS :
The Full-Time Temporary Training Specialists will be required to have the following certifications / credentials :
- OSHA (501) Authorized Trainer for General Industry required.
- Experience facilitating various safety-related training required.
- Fall Protection Competent Trainer certification required.
- Confined Space Trainer certification required.
- Strong training and facilitation skills required.
- Powered Industrial Truck Trainer certification preferred.
- Experience facilitating new hire safety orientation preferred.
- Strong computer software skills, including use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.
- Previous experience with LMS preferred.
