Job Title : Lead Vendor Management Consultant
Position Overview : The Lead Vendor Management Consultant will play a critical role within our private equity firm’s IT Carve Out team.
This position involves full ownership of all contracts, sourcing, and vendor management related to IT Carve Outs. The successful candidate will lead contract negotiations, review contract clauses, and oversee large RFPs, particularly with system integrators.
Key Responsibilities :
- Contract Ownership : Manage the end-to-end process of IT Carve Out contracts, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and favorable terms.
- Vendor Sourcing : Identify and evaluate potential vendors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and cost-effectiveness.
- Contract Negotiations : Lead negotiations with vendors, leveraging expertise to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Contract Clause Review : Conduct thorough reviews of contract terms, identifying potential risks and recommending adjustments.
- RFP Management : Oversee the RFP process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create, evaluate, and select vendors.
- Vendor Relationship Management : Foster strong relationships with vendors, ensuring successful project execution.
- Project Coordination : Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and project management teams.
Must-Haves :
- Large RFP SI Experience : Proven track record of managing large RFPs for system integrators.
- Vendor Management Expertise : Strong background in technology vendor management, sourcing, and contract negotiations.
- Consulting Background : Business / management consulting experience with reputable firms (e.g., PWC, Bain, BCG, Accenture, McKinsey) in IT carve out or technology transformation initiatives.
Alternatively, experience within a PE firm managing similar roles for portfolio companies.
Geographic Flexibility : Based on the East Coast, with a willingness to travel to New Jersey as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and IT carve outs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
Location : East Coast, USA (with travel to New Jersey)
