Maintenance Mechanic B Non-Exempt

The Maintenance Mechanic B is responsible for repairing and maintaining basic machinery and mechanical components along with basic electrical equipment for manufacturing.

This position assists the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Must have the ability to work independently in the performance of standard maintenance and repairs.

Reports to : Maintenance Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Preventive / predictive TPM and routine maintenance on production equipment- CNC machines

Assist troubleshooting issues and repair failures of production equipment.

Minor Electrical Repairs and / or replacement of fluorescent lamps, fuses and knowledge of multi-meter test equipment.

Capable of using a forklift and man lift

Assist operation with testing and implementation of equipment.

Assist operation with analyzing deviations and definition of machine related corrective actions.

Assist and participate in Rapid Improvement Events that lead to repairs and modifications to processes as a function of Continuous Improvement and process stability (e.

g. 6S and Preventive Maintenance, Build Creform carts etc.).

Support all aspects of building maintenance / routine shop preventive maintenance as needed.

Monitor and maintain environmental, health and safety equipment and systems for both production and non-production equipment as directed.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)

5-10% Domestic Travel required

Requirements :

Must be a US Person as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

High school diploma or G.E.D required

3+ years experience as a CNC mechanic required

3+ years knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields : Basic Mechanics, Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics.

Knowledge of OSHA standards : Lock Out / Tag Out, Hazard Communication, Fork Lift Certified, NFPA 70E Arc Flash (electrical safety)

Strong preventive maintenance background.

Basic Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g. blue prints, manuals, wiring diagrams etc.)

Must speak and understand English

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
