The Head of Stores Transformation is a key role that forms part of the Stores senior leadership team, overseeing the successful completion of existing stores transformation projects alongside partnering the Stores Director to build out a multi-year Stores transformation programme.

In addition, the role also leads our Format and Design team and has the advantage of being able to design and operate our Stores to meet customer and colleagues need for speed, ease and convenience, ultimately driving growth for Currys.

Role overview :

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for :

  • Overseeing and ensuring the successful delivery of projects and programmes
  • As the lead on transformation, developing an effective way to communicate portfolio wide issues to the Stores SLT
  • Acquiring and evaluating information about industry, customer and market trends, identifying business opportunities to support future recommendations
  • Leading Test & Learn Governance; Coordinate and ensure all measurements for store trials are completed through the lens of our customers, colleagues & finance and that they are supported by robust business casing and PIRs
  • Leading the Store Format design team to work collaboratively with Future Stores Strategy team, Brand Marketing and Category Squads to ensure alignment and clarity on budgets, design principles, health & safety and frameworks are in place and maintained
  • Owning the future blueprint for store design and experience across store archetypes within omni strategy
  • Providing strong communication, clear briefs and scope of work requirements to the Property Construction and Stores implementation team to enable compliant in store execution of all space, commercial and store design initiatives
  • Preparing and presenting EXCO and Board packs with funding requests for approval.

You will need to :

  • have experience of delivering complex, multi-year projects and programs with the ability to think strategically, with a long-term outlook
  • make the complex simple for different audiences working at both executive and colleague level
  • evidence that you understand and can operate effectively within a complex business model, challenging at the highest level when required
  • balance financial delivery with a relentless focus on cost
  • be a highly commercial leader with experience of motivating and developing a large team
  • experience of presenting at Executive Committee level
  • experience in a digital transformation programme environment working with technology teams
  • have consumer facing organisation experience (advantageous)
