What you can expect as an Senior Payroll & Leave Specialist at West Star :
As a Sr. Payroll & Leave Specialist, you will be part of an experienced HR Team. This position is a great opportunity to use your skills to support our Payroll team by performing various Payroll duties including hours verifications, miscellaneous payroll entries and verifications, submission of weekly payroll and post-payroll reporting for multi-site divisions.
In addition, this position will manage the administrative functions of leave management for the enterprise.
This position requires strong organization and attention to detail, strong verbal / written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
This position must maintain strict confidentially at all times. The job duties will vary each day.
This position can be accomplished in a remote work from home setting.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including :
Coordinate leave management process for employees on FMLA / STD / CO FAMLI / Workers Compensation / ADA and other state disability programs.
This will involve interaction with employees, HR teams, and third-party leave providers, to ensure proper support is provided to employees with a need for leave
- Maintain and update a tracking resource so HR teams are informed at all times of the status of employees’ leave
- Responsible for providing requested documentation and information to third-party leave providers in a timely manner
- Responsible for tracking and entering employees’ weekly time off hours and benefit premium payments in the payroll system
- Responsible for coordinating employees’ return to work at the conclusion of their leave, including ensuring proper medical documentation is received and proper parties are notified
- Responsible for verifying employee hours each week in the payroll system within payroll processing timelines
- Responsible for entering miscellaneous payroll items into the payroll system
- Responsible for submission of weekly payroll and post-payroll reporting
- Assist with verification of 401k entries, payroll registers and PCF’s each week as needed
- Provides a forward thinking and strategic mindset and continuous improvement feedback to the Shared Services Manager on opportunities to better support the function, managers and employees
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English

What you’ll need to bring with you :
Your Education :
A High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and / or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Your Experience :
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point experience required.
HR / Payroll knowledge and experience helpful.

This person will also need to be able to maintain confidentiality at all times and have excellent organizational skills.
