Texas A&M University's is seeking an IT Manager II to join our team in supporting our Linux Infrastructure onsite in College Station, Texas.
In this role, you will oversee complex IT operations, ensuring seamless performance and continual service improvement. You will lead a team of expert Linux Administrators focusing on Red Hat Linux at an enterprise level.
You will have the opportunity to build and maintain our vender relationships and perform specialized technical duties. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining vendor relationships, performing specialized technical duties, and implementing continuous improvement methodologies.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do :
Lead, develop, and coach multi-disciplined and senior technical staff members.
Ensure the delivery of large-scale information technology services
Implement continuous improvement methodologies.
Collaborate with our Project Management Office to lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of large IT Projects.
Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for staff members
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Salary : $80,000 annually
Schedule : This position may require on-call support on nights and weekends. The selected candidate would be expected to work onsite in College Station, Texas.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualification :
A bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and experience ANDfive years of information technology experience which includes two years of team / project leadership.
A well-qualified candidates would also possess at least one or more of the following :
Strong background in Linux systems administration in an enterprise environment.
Knowledge of basic to advance project and operations management includingdecision making, scheduling, prioritizing, quality assurance, delegating, monitoring work tasks, reporting, negotiating, basic vendor relations, advanced customer relations skills, risk assessment, disaster recovery & business continuity, and enterprise-level operations, advanced vendor relations, advanced business acumen, change management.
Advanced industry related skills to include, advanced proficiency with ITIL, IT project management protocols, knowledge of IT security regulations, IT architecture sourcing, and knowledge of current IT industry issues and trends.
Knowledge of team leadership skills including motivating team and group processes, team collaboration, empowering, coaching, mentoring, training, ethical integrity, and supervising staff.
