The successful candidate forthis position will be a 1099 contractor with Music MinistryInternational and be responsible for thefollowing :
3.3.1.Catholic Music Accompanist. The primary form ofCatholic worship is the Mass and liturgical music is an essentialelement for this worship experience.
The Catholic Music Accompanistprovides the necessary musical support for theMass.
3.3.1.1. Qualifications
a. Awillingness to provide the services in consonance with normalecclesiastical liturgical practices.
b. A provenfamiliarity with the requirements of Catholic worship.
c. A recognitionthat the Catholic Chaplain or his designee will make the finaldecision as to the appropriateness of any part of a given worshipevent rite or observance including the music selected.
d. The ability tomaintain healthy functional interpersonal relationships withcoworkers chapel staff and parishioners.
e. The maintenanceof professional standards of conduct and public decorum includingbut not limited to dress and grooming.
f. The contractorshall certify appropriate professional competence by providingevidence of academic certification and / or experience in Catholicmusic.
The contractor must have the ability to sight read transposeand develop accompaniment to a melody of chords as well as readfull musical accompaniment.
3.3.1.2. Specific Tasks. The Catholic Music Accompanist is responsible forplaying music at the liturgical services of the Catholic Communityat DMAFB Chapel under the direction of the Catholic Music Director.
Musical selections will be made in collaboration with the CatholicMusic Director and Catholic Chaplain or his Designee. The MusicAccompanists responsibilities include :
a. Meet regularlywith the Catholic Music Director for general planning of the musicprogram.
b. Prepareto play music at a one hour rehearsal per week per liturgy. Therehearsals must be conducted separate from the liturgy itself.
Thewarm up time prior to a service will be considered part of theservice and not a separate rehearsal.
c. Perform atWeekend Masses Saturday at 5 : 00 p.m. and Sunday at 10 : 00 a.m.
d. Perform atspecial services or liturgies to include the Christmas Cantata asdetermined by the Catholic Chaplain or his Designee.
These serviceswill include a 15 to 30minutc warm up session before each serviceand the performance of the service itself of generally one but nomore than two hours.
e. The number of sessions the accompanist shall provideare 52 Saturday Masses 52 Sunday Masses 104 rehearsals (two a weekone for each weekend Mass) and 25 sessions for special services orliturgies for a total maximum of 233 sessions. Each
session (each Mass special service liturgy orrehearsal) is considered a unit and payment will be based on thenumber of units actually performed.
3.3.1.3 Replacement Personnel. The Music Accompanist is responsible for continuousperformance through the contract performance period.
If areplacement becomes necessary candidates must meet all CatholicMusic Accompanists qualifications in this PWS and be an agreeablesubstitute by the Catholic Chaplain or his designee.
The Governmentreserves the right to refuse any candidate if the candidate doesnot meet all requiredqualifications.
3.3.1.4 Schedule. The number of sessions theaccompanist will provide are 52 Saturday Masses52
Sunday Masses 104 rehearsals (two a week onefor each weekend Mass) and 25 sessions for special services orliturgies for a total maximum of 233 sessions.
Each session (eachMass special service liturgy or rehearsal) is considered a unit andpayment will be based on the number of unitsperformed.
