JOB TITLE : HR & EHS ASSOCIATE
Job Summary : The Human Resources ( HR ) & Environmental, Health and Safety ( EHS ) Associate is a regular full-time, hourly position responsible for providing assistance with and helping facilitate all HR & EHS processes at Terrapin Beer Company.
Primary areas of responsibilities for this position include : assisting with compiling bi-weekly payrolls, talent acquisition, onboarding, ongoing training(s), policy implementation and assisting with EHS audit processes.
The incumbent will report directly to the Vice President - Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists with recruitment and interview processes. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
- Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.
- Provide weekly reporting to all department managers regarding, but not limited to, time & attendance, trending overtime hours, time-off requests, etc.
- Assists with organizing and launching the annual open enrollment communications and elections process.
- Facilitates training on select topics, including new hire orientation, for all employees.
- Updates or processes HRIS records by entering terminations, changes in job title, benefits, changes in compensation, garnishments, department transfers, etc....
- Under the direction of Vice President Human Resources, assist with internal HR investigations as necessary.
- Under the direction of Vice President Human Resources, serve as point of contact for the Reasonable Accommodation & Return-to-Work processes including, but not limited to, job restriction assessments and temporary workstation ergonomic assessments.
- Assists with organizing activities to increase safety awareness across the organization including routine safety committee meetings, Safety Month and the monthly safety incentive program.
- Under the direction of Vice President Human Resources, assist with the investigation process for all accidents, injuries and near misses.
Prepares detailed reports of investigations along with other forms as required by regulatory agencies. As directed, design and follow through on action plan(s) to circumvent future safety incidents.
- Evaluate, manage and inventory safety supplies, spill response materials and other safety equipment while staying within both budgetary and compliance requirements.
- As directed, perform weekly and monthly EHS audits for assigned work zones within the manufacturing plant and overall campus.
- Provide administrative support for general inquiries and help with the Company security systems.
- Provide administrative support for issues and HRIS system inquiries.
- Respond to employee inquires in a prompt and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements :
Completion of 2-year degree program in either Human Resources Management, Environmental Health & Safety, General Business, Management or a related program with 1-2 years’ of experience.
Must be self-motivated, have excellent written skills, verbal communication, and strong leadership skills. This position also requires excellent time management skills as well as very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds;
vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
Must be able to work 8-10 hours shifts dependent on operational business needs of the brewery.
Candidates must be proficient in MS Office software including Excel and Word.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in regard to policies & procedures is required.
