Description : Position Summary :
Position Summary :
Reports and takes direction from the Carpenter Supervisor in performing carpentry preventive maintenance repair and structural alterations for the Building Authority maintained properties.
Specific Duties :
- Install interior and exterior doors to include door closers and hardware.
- Perform repair and maintenance of built-up and rubber roofs.
- Perform metal, wood, concrete, and masonry construction as needed.
- Install lay-in and inner locking ceilings.
- Responsible for drywall installation and finishing construction
- Assist the Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, and Paint shops with maintenance repairs.
- Assist in correcting safety issues within the Building Authority property.
- To comply with Building Authority policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- To perform all other duties as assigned by the Carpenter Supervisor.
Preferred Skills :
- Performs preventive maintenance and repair work to include :
- Revolving doors and handicap doors.
- Restroom partitions and amenities.
- Window repair and replacement.
- Stairwell rails.
- Public Assembly Room and Jury seating.
- Floor and wall repair and maintenance.
- Countertop repair and maintenance.
2. Perform customer service requests to include item hanging and door readjustments.
3. Perform structural alterations for Buildings maintained by Downtown Operations to include cabinet, shelving, and laminated countertop construction.
Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications :
- Previous experience and working knowledge of structural and finishing carpentry experience.
- Previous experience in the preventive maintenance, repair, or modification of rubber roofs.
- Self-motivated individual.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
- Ability to work well with others including fellow employees, outside vendors, contractors, and customers.

- This position requires work in an indoor building setting and exposure to outdoor environments.
