As a Director of Nursing with the Monroe Skilled Nursing and Rehab Campus at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Monroe.
- In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Monroe County to provide services to seniors. In this position, you will have successfully completed an accredited Registered Nurse program and be currently licensed by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse;
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred. You will also bring 5 years of experience in the nursing field with a successful work history in a Skilled Nursing Facility post-acute care setting;
1 year post-acute care management preferred.
As a Director of Nursing, you will :
- Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality as illustrated by the following :
- Ensure an environment which encourages each resident's / client’s ability to maintain or attain the highest level of independence and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the resident / client, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
- Interpretation and adherence of the policies and procedures for the personnel, patients, medical staff and public
- Make written and oral reports / recommendations to the Administrator, as necessary / required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department
- Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department and a Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee to develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies and assure best research based practice
- Facilitate nursing department survey process (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
- Ensure the electronic medical record (EMR) conversion is efficient, appropriately utilized and secured by nursing end users
- Determine the staffing needs of the nursing service department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents and collaborate with the scheduler / HR to ensure these are consistently met
- Share in the 24-hour on-call availability to nursing department supervisors to provide guidance in unusual situations
- Delegate to the nursing service supervisory personnel the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties
