Position Overview :
The Sr. Process Engineer provides engineering support to production organizations to ensure excellence in Process Safety, Reliability, Change Management, Production Planning, Turnaround Planning and Cost Optimization.
This role analyzes data, troubleshoots issues and implements improvements to ensure excellence in process safety, reliability, margin / energy consumption and cost management.
This role utilizes daily proactive monitoring and works closely with their business team to ensure product plan delivery.
Responsibilities :
- Proactively monitor operations in accordance with long term technical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Provide technical assurance to operations personnel during test runs, abnormal situations and unplanned outages.
- Develop and implement plans to mitigate threats to unit availability.
- Provide technical review level assurance in the Management of Change (MOC) to ensure robust process safety management for pending changes.
- Identify opportunities for margin and energy improvements, facilitating work process changes to ensure advantages are captured.
- Provide process engineering support for turnaround planning and execution, ensuring achievement of reliability and turnaround objectives.
- Prepare technical reports for internal stakeholders, partners, customers and regulatory agencies.
Experience and Qualifications :
Required Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- 6+ years of relevant process engineering experience
- Understanding of Process Operations
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Process Safety Management experience
- Broad understanding of Engineering principles and fundamentals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication with all levels of matrixed organization
- Effective teamwork in cross-functional situations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Delivers quality results and is a self-starter
Preferred Education and Experience :
8+ years of relevant process engineering experience
Physical Requirements :
- Due to the safety sensitive nature of the job, must be able to pass annual respirator fit testing
- Move up to 40 pounds by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects
- Ability to reach all work areas in the plant (i.e. climb ladders, navigate catwalks, handle heights up to 50 feet, etc.)
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirators, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
