Position Overview :
An Applications Administrator is responsible for planning, design, developing, configuration, integration, deployment of upgrades, patches, and new releases to new or existing organizational applications.
This role will collaborate with vendors, analysts, and business owners in testing of new and modified software applications, ensuring program functionality and optimal performance.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Work with a cross-functional team to plan, design, develop, integrate and deploy new releases and enhancements to new or existing applications
- Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, DBA, Information Security, and other technical teams to ensure proper integration and configuration of the environment and application
- Analyze documentation and technical specifications of application under operation or consideration to determine its intended functionality
- Develop test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs
- Collaborate with vendors, analysts, and business owners in the testing of new and modified software programs and applications
- Establish and nurture close relationships with software vendors via participation in focus groups, conferences, and vendor reference calls
- Analyze, diagnose and determine root cause of issues, test, communicate, and either resolve or escalate for resolution appropriately
- Assist in tracking, prioritizing, and escalating identified issues to software vendors, IT contacts, and business owners
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
- Review governing regulations to ensure compliance
- Consult business units on how to make efficiency gains by providing data gathering analysis and reporting service
- Review and create technical diagrams and data flows, reporting requirements, and business models to identify, analyze, design, create, test, and enhance workflows
- Provide mentorship and ongoing assistance to support team to tackle and resolve issues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills :
- 3+ years of IT Application Administration experience required
- 5+ years experience working in a financial institution preferred
- Ability to lead targeted tactical projects with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to write technical status reports, software gap analysis, & procedures clearly and concisely
- Ability to systematically gather, read, interpret & present data and findings to diverse audiences
- Knowledge and understanding industry trends and willingness to obtain additional training or certifications needed to support the department
- Understanding of software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems
- Ability to evaluate and improve existing processes
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills required with a high degree of accuracy
- Aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team and ability to collaborate with others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize workload based on department and member needs
- Flexibility to adapt and succeed in a dynamic environment
- Ability and drive to provide exceptional service to members and employees
Preferred qualifications / skills :
- Conversant with middleware like Mulesoft or Apigee.
- Experience with KYC / AML & related digital fraud and identification data providers
- Experience with Alloy or similar data provider aggregator & decision engine
- Experience with Symxchange or other core interfaces
- Conversant with AWS / Azure, and related application / web server components like app pools & IIS
- Business acumen relevant to the department and applications under management
- Experience with ITIL and Change Management
- Experience with SFTP & related best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or comparable certificates or experience
- Experience with Service now, Jira, and Confluence or other collaboration software
Workplace Environment :
- Ability to remain in stationary position (standing or sitting) for 90-95% during entire shift
- Working at a computer 90% of the day
- Utilizing the phone 40-60%
- Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion
- Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
- Lift, carry, push or pull up to approximately 30 pounds (cash / coin bags, supplies, etc.)
- Requires onsite presence based on coordination of work with other employees and / or departments. May require travel to attend on-site meetings / events for collaboration, connection, project work, All-Employee Day, etc.
Required Work Schedule :
Schedules vary based on the needs of the business and flexible based on the needs of the employee's day, but an 8-hour day will typically fall between 7am-7pm M-F CST with on call rotations for after-hours and weekend support of unplanned outages and after hours work for planned upgrades and maintenance.
Consistent and reliable attendance is a required essential function of this role to meet the needs of the department / team and organization.
This position will have the opportunity to be based remotely, but does require onsite presence in St. Paul, MN for quarterly meetings and project initiatives as needed.
Additionally travel to vendor locations may be required.
