PURPOSE : Perform accounts payable duties to ensure the co-ops fiscal integrity and responsibility. Provide support to the Accounting Department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of tasks.
REPORTS TO : Accounting Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Gather, sort, and process A / P documents.Accurately code and enter invoices to accounting system.
Identify priority invoices and discounts. Prepare and perform check runs.Sort and file paperwork and invoices.Maintain vendor files and records.
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.Provide other departments with access to payables information on request.
Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.Process and ship manufacturer coupons monthly.Provide supporting documentation for audits as requested by auditors.
Meet department goals for efficiency and accuracy.Perform other tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS : Formal or informal accounting or finance education, partnered with hands-on experience, preferred.
Organization and problem-solving skills, proficiency with math and numbers, scrupulous attention to detail. Computer literacy : MS Office with strong Excel skills, some experience with accounting software.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain policies and procedures clearly. Data entry experience.
Ability to work both independently and as a team. Ability to meet commitments and timelines and prioritize tasks. Ability to be flexible in a fast- paced work environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with customers and coworkers from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work with TCCP to create an inclusive environment where all are welcomed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Able to work seated most of the day. Fine fingering manipulation. Vision corrected to enable reading of small print.
