What You'll Do as a Supply Chain Specialist :
Draft, refine, and maintain project-specific contract templates, ensuring flow-down of mandatory prime-contract clauses.Lead and / or support negotiations on high-exposure purchase orders and subcontracts, balancing commercial terms with risk mitigation.Serve as the first point of legal escalation, partnering with corporate counsel to resolve complex or disputed issues quickly.Deliver workshops on negotiation techniques, contract fundamentals, and terms & conditions for supply chain personnel.Develop enterprise-wide procurement templates and playbooks to drive consistency across districts.Act as liaison among project supply-chain managers, project managers, legal, risk, tax, and sponsors to keep contracts moving toward execution.Cultivate strategic supplier relationships and oversee vendor-specific template negotiations.Share legal and commercial updates during procurement staff meetings to keep teams aligned.Tackle escalated vendor or contract disputes, working hands-on to craft practical solutions.Stay informed on multiple active projects, stepping in rapidly when purchasing challenges arise.Contribute to continuous-improvement initiatives and take on other assignments as directed by leadership.Qualifications & Prior Experience - Supply Chain Specialist :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (or equivalent military / industry experience).Required : 5+ years of hands-on negotiation experience with sizeable contracts.Preferred : 3+ years in commercial / transactional law or contract management.Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).Proven strength in risk assessment, claims prevention, and dispute resolution.Strong leadership, coaching, relationship-building, and time-management skills.Readiness for occasional travel (25% or less; generally 3-4 days at a time, one time per month)#IND1
