Summary
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the initial and ongoing education and competency assessment and evaluation process within the assigned units.
The Nurse Educator assists Nursing Services and provides programs and training to enhance the development of technical, psychomotor, and critical thinking domains.
The Nurse Educator will maintain clinical competency in order to best assess and assist the needs of the units assigned.
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education : MSN or current enrollment in an eligible program with completion within 2 years.
Experience : 3+ years in an inpatient acute care facility and in an area of specialty clinical responsibility.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Minimum Required :
Applicant must be licensed to work as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact state. Must maintain BLS.
Other certifications as required of nurses working in the clinical area assigned.
Preferred : Certification in Nursing Professional Development and / or clinical specialty related to assigned units
