Job Title : Technical SME - Insurance Systems - Hybrid

Salary : $95,000 - $135,000 per year

What will the Technical SME do?

  • Serve as the internal go-to expert for the FAST PAS platform, supporting operations and troubleshooting issues
  • Act as the primary liaison to the FAST vendor for escalations, enhancements, and training coordination
  • Document workflows, data lineage, and system configurations to support ongoing optimization
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable items
  • Prioritize and manage a backlog of system fixes and enhancements based on business impact
  • Use SQL and lower environments to validate data, inspect logs, and reverse-engineer data models
  • Support API testing and payload validation using tools like Postman and JSON

    • What the company needs in a Technical SME :

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical support, systems analysis, or business systems roles within insurance or financial services
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of data structures and lineage
  • Familiarity with policy administration systems (FAST preferred) and cloud-based environments (AWS Aurora)
  • Experience with API testing and troubleshooting (Postman, JSON, XML)
  • Ability to communicate clearly across technical and business teams
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment with evolving priorities
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow with the company

    • Preferred Attributes :

  • Insurance domain knowledge (especially annuities and life) is a plus
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365 tools
  • Ability to train others and create clear documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset
  • Not overly polished-comfortable diving into technical issues and vendor coordination
