LaBella Associates has an immediate need for an Environmental Engineer in our Climate Resiliency Group in one of our New York State offices.
At LaBella, we are Powered by Partnership . That means we are looking for a passionate, motivated engineer driven by creating positive impacts in our communities by working with our team to help our clients with the design of climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience projects.
You will build your experience and expertise working with this team whose typical projects include climate vulnerability assessments, flood risk modeling and management, stream / habitat restoration, shoreline stabilization design, green infrastructure design, wetland mitigation design, carbon footprint analysis, and many more.

Duties
- Assist in preparing conceptual and detailed engineering designs that focus on using nature-based solutions. Perform moderate design tasks and prepare portions of project documents and cost estimates, including technical specifications and drawings.
- Produce drawings using computer-assisted drafting systems (AutoCAD and Civil 3D).
- Develop and run HEC-RAS inundation models of project areas as part of engineering design development.
- Perform site visits and attend project meetings.
- Work collaboratively with multidiscipline design teams. Willing to learn and pursue projects that may be outside of your current skillset.
- Proposal development and limited business development initiatives, including presentations at conferences.
Requirements
- BS degree in environmental engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) not required but preferred.
- 5-10 years of professional environmental consulting experience.
- Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD Civil3D and HEC-RAS.
- Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be team oriented with strong capability to motivate others.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
- Must demonstrate superior ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates.
Salary Range - $75,000 - $98,000
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
