Role Summary
Responsible for leading the Aircraft Engineering team in the development of modifications to commercial aircraft based on certification, budget, performance, and installation requirements.
Aircraft Engineering develops installation and substantiation data packages and supports their installation and sustainment.
The role requires collaboration with PMO, Certification and other technical teams as appropriate.

What You'll be Doing
- Provide engineering leadership and decision-making to support STC and installation design.
- Manage the engineering team resources, balancing work assignments to meet commitments.
- Accomplish detailed design of aircraft equipment installations and modifications, including parts, assemblies, installation drawings and instructions, parts lists, and aircraft manual supplements.
- Provide engineering expertise and communicate relevant information within the organization and supporting groups.
- Prepare, review, and / or approve design and substantiation data as required.
- Prepare and / or review documentation to ensure satisfaction of customer, company and regulatory requirements.
- Work to quickly resolve manufacturing and installation problems.
- Monitor and report status against project requirements.
- Support aircraft surveys, design reviews, and aircraft modifications.
- Perform additional duties as directed, some travel and on-aircraft testing may be required.
- Ensure QA and engineering processes are stablished and followed.
- Develop the organization’s engineers to ensure the team is high-functioning with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- The role may lead to EASA DOA Head of Design career path and / or deputy HoD.
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years’ experience in avionics, structures or aviation engineering.
- BS Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent / related field, MS preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of STC process and experience working with FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER).
- Knowledge of Design Engineer, Compliance Verification Engineer roles and responsibility under EASA DOA is a plus, as well as any P21J procedures.
- Requires working knowledge of and experience using 3D CAD; SolidWorks, 2D CAD; AutoCAD preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with aircraft design methodologies and standard practices.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be comfortable working with strict timelines.
- Experience with FAR and / or CS rules and regulations.
- Self-motivated leader with the ability to create alternative solutions.
- Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $160,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, skills, certifications etc.
