Summary
This position sits within the Corporate Environmental and Regulatory Affairs group in the Boise, Idaho office and will focus on requirements associated with greenhouse gas emissions at industrial sites and will also support air quality permitting and provide compliance assistance.
Travel to facilities is required (at least 30%).
Key Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for evaluating technologies and options for reducing greenhouse gas emissions at industrial facilities.
This may include conducting basic energy balances, working with other engineering staff on energy efficiency and related projects, and preparing preliminary feasibility analyses on reduction options.
This role will be expected to have or develop an extensive knowledge of greenhouse gas emission reporting and emission requirement regulations at both the federal and state level.
The role assists facilities in meeting their compliance obligations for greenhouse gases (reporting, allowance purchases and forecasting, etc).
- This role will also provide assistance to facilities on air quality related matters such as ambient air quality standards, operation of air pollution control equipment, and training as needed and assist with or lead air quality permit efforts.
- This role may also be asked to participate in Environmental Assessment Program and provide technical assistance to facilities on environmental matters as directed.
Typical Education
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Science.
Relevant Experience
Three (3) to six (6) years of applicable industry experience preferred; experience with Clean Air Act compliance and permitting and / or greenhouse gas program management is preferred.
