Procurement Buyer - Raw Materials

Reporting to the Sr. Director Commercial & Procurement, the Procurement Buyer - Raw Materials recommends and develops strategic purchasing initiatives in the assigned area.

Responsibilities include forecasting internal customer needs, sourcing solutions, providing cost-benefit analysis, and leading the RFP processes, including results driven, contract negotiations.

The Procurement Buyer - Raw Materials serves as a liaison between vendors and internal customers and creating transparent, productive working relationships.

This position will travel between HARIBO headquarters in Rosemont, IL and our manufacturing facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting the agreement, issue resolution, negotiating terms and prices, and approving and executing the final signed contract.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of raw materials.
• Effectively source for raw materials or ingredients meeting critical production needs overcoming materials and lead time obstacles.
• Manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing process including sourcing new vendors, data and market analysis, strategy development, pricing negotiations and contract review.
• Develop long-term partnerships with world-class suppliers to source both indirect and direct materials. while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers for RFIs and RFPs
• Perform cost benefit analysis and determine opportunities for savings, project efficiency, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to develop scope of work and bid documents for RFPs, serving as the system expert and providing coaching and support as necessary.
• Continuously develop and optimize supplier relationships to gather information in an effort to source the best quality materials at the optimum price at proper lead-times to meet business requirements.
• Generate monthly reports and identify areas for cost containment / reductions in all areas of ownership as it relates to purchasing.
• Conduct day-to-day purchasing for multiple departments in accordance to HARIBO's policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidential company information and filing system for purchases and correspondence documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of buying experience; preferably within a consumer-packaged goods industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of SAP ERP working experience
• Ability to partner with people at all levels of the organization is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate Excel knowledge (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc.)
• Master's degree preferred, but not required.

Skills

• Understanding of procurement trends and legal terms as they relate to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
• Ability to communicate effectively between internal and external stakeholders
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects while ensuring tasks get completed on a timely basis
• Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and analytical skills
• Ability to partner with people at all levels of the organization
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight turnaround times for deliverables
