Summary
The Director of Development will set and achieve fundraising goals, maintain knowledge of fundraisers' interests, and cultivate relationships with staff, Board members, donors, and community stakeholders.
The Director of Development will provide strategic, creative, and effective leadership toward the execution of a comprehensive fund development plan that meets or exceeds Neighborhood House budget requirements on an annual basis.
The successful applicant will build lasting relationships with donors and keep them informed on how their donations are contributing to the accomplishment of the Neighborhood House mission.
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- With the Executive Director and Board of Directors, execute a fund development plan with detailed timelines and task plans to achieve measurable success
- Oversee all funding solicitations for foundations, corporations, and individuals and build and maintain relationships with those constituencies
- Oversee and coordinate all events, including developing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, vendors, and other community stakeholders
- With the Board of Directors Marketing and Communications Committee, develop, execute and evaluate all marketing and communication strategies for the agency’s website, social media platforms, and traditional media outlets
- Coordinate and oversee all grant writing functions with Neighborhood House staff and / or contracted vendor staff
- Manage all aspects of the agency’s donor database
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three years of experience with development operations, preferably at a nonprofit organization
- Experience with managing staff and volunteers
- Experience managing and coordinating special events
- Experience working with executive leadership and / or Board of Directors in meeting fundraising goals
- Experience with developing and coordinating marketing strategies that elevate the agency’s profile
- Experience working with donor software tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders toward the accomplishment of an organizational mission
