Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Lab Assistant positions for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU).
Position Duties 100% Assist CCE Faculty with the care and maintenance of equipment in the survey laboratories and perform a wide variety of work that supports the quality of education in the department at the university.
Duties may include but are not limited to :
- Mentoring students in the proper operation of survey equipment
- Assisting with labs, and attending TA meetings
- Cleaning / organizing surveying equipment and the lab / equipment rooms
- Documenting inventory of all equipment (new / old)
- Performing instrument calibrations / adjustments
- Checking out / in equipment to students
- Other duties as assigned

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
A reduced course load is approved by the (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications
Student must have taken or is currently taking a surveying course within CCE and must complete safety training.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Preference for a CCE student interested in pursuing licensure as a Professional Surveyor and / or is pursuing a career in Geomatics (i.
e., Surveying and mapping).
