Description

The Assistant Program Director is a professional who actively supports the mission, purpose, philosophy and values of CHD and maintains a high level of commitment to program staff.

The Assistant Program Director works within the program’s team model, establishing open communication, support and accountability among staff members.

S / he has direct responsibility for the training and supervision of multiple full-time and part-time staff members. S / he is responsible for providing clinical, housing, and outreach management training and supervision to outreach coordinators and for overseeing the overall functioning of the outreach teams.

The Assistant Program Director is accountable to Program Director who is responsible for providing supervision and training.

The Assistant Program Director is a professional who actively supports the philosophy of the agency and maintains a high level of commitment to program staff.

S / he oversees all facets of programs designed to integrate formerly institutionalized / homeless adults in need of service.

S / he is a liaison to service providers and the community who creates and maintains open, effectual lines of communication.

S / he is responsible for the functioning of all supportive housing, and housing related programming in CT.

Responsibilities :

• Provides oversight for all permanent supportive housing and HUD related programs
• Develops crisis intervention plans
• Assists in crisis intervention plans
• Assists with development and monitoring of treatment plans and assessment
• Interacts with clients in order to assess needs, provide information, discuss problems, set limits, and encourage growth and development
• Assists referral source with client placement
• Notifies management staff immediately in the event of a client crisis, suspected illegal activity, or any behavior constituting an incident in the program
• Insures client’s residence are both safe and healthy
• Provide direct support, training, and supervision to multiple full-time and part-time staff
• Visits all programmatic sites
• Develops and implements programmatic self-inspection techniques
• Provides clinical and programmatic supervision, training, support, and -annual evaluations to Managers, Outreach Coordinators and Program Assistant
• Manages clients’ clinical services; overall management of treatment planning processes
• Assures adherence to program treatment philosophies and policies
• Oversees quality assurance measures
• Monitors computers and computer software, making upgrades as necessary
• Develops accountability systems for staff and clients
• Monitors programmatic program policy, limits and goals
• Updates policies as needed
• Coordinates programmatic staff evaluation process
• Is on call 24 hours a day

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree (preferred) in human service-related field from an accredited institution
• Three years’ experience working with a psychiatric population
• 3 year supervisory experience
• Extensive knowledge of permanent supportive housing and HUD regulations
• Reliable vehicle
• Current driver's license
• Current registration
• Active Insurance
