SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for deploying program quality assessments for School Readiness providers contracting with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County.
This position is field based, conducting assessments using defined standards. This position requires extensive experience, training, and certification with the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
HOURS :
This position is designated as Telecommute . Business hours at the Boynton office are Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm.
This position may require at least 10% attendance in the designated office.
PAY RATE : up to $60,00 per year, commensurate with experience. Travel reimbursement available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintains current CLASS certifications in the appropriate age level tools.
- Conducts CLASS assessments using the Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K tools following Touchstone reliability standards.
- Completes CLASS Summary Score Reports on assigned centers and / or family childcare homes and inputs them into the scoring database within required time frames.
- Generates notes that fully support program assessment scores issued, with the ability to use factual examples from observations (in the original language used in the classroom when possible).
- Completes inter-rater reliability checks with other CLASS assessors.
- Have the ability to speak, understand, and write in the language of the classrooms being observed.
- Uses data to inform the need to develop professional development workshop for the provider community.
- Develop and facilitate CLASS content training both on-site and virtually.
- Contribute to maintaining the Coalition's learning management system (LMS) by inputting training descriptions and following up on participant data.
- Conduct data feedback sessions in collaboration with Coalition coaches that help to inform the selection of improvement strategies.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year College or university in a related field, required.
- Five years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
- Extensive training / professional development in the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Early Childhood Environmental Assessment (CLASS / ERS) Certifications recommended, not required. (Must train to reliability within 3 months of employment if not currently certified) and maintain ongoing professional training to keep active certification status.
- Candidate must be eligible for MMCI training certification and other certifications required for this position.
