The Role
We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to join our growing team! This is a supervisory role where you will assist the Resident Engineer in coordinating special meetings, review progress discussions, identify issues that may impede progress, and resolve design issues.
As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will get exposure to acting as Resident Engineer (RE) in absence of the Resident Engineer or during second or third work shifts.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret project plans, specifications, permits, and other pertinent contract documents.
Inform the Resident Engineer of relevant observations, including the progress of the work, problems that develop, and work proactively in identifying potential problems / issues.
Recommend workable solutions to problems / issues encountered.
Monitor the contractor’s safety program for compliance with the construction contract requirements.
Prepare, maintain, and update As-Built Drawings and Punch List for completed work.
Hold Weekly Safety Meetings with Inspection Staff.
Requirements
Professional Engineer, licensed in the State of New York.
Bridge construction work experience, 8+ Years.
Familiarity with managing complex projects in highly populated areas (including NYC).
Ability to write and edit Diaries, RFI’s, Procedures, and Cost Proposals.
BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Relevant industry associations / memberships such as ASCE, ASHE, ACEC, AMPP
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $140,000 - $175,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law.
It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York.
Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law.
Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
