PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Purchasing Agent II is to be responsible for managing the purchasing process for the organization.

This role will sit primarily in the office but may travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams, suppliers, dealers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES : Purchasing Agent II typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Duties include managing pre-bid & post-bid purchasing and contracting process for all suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, dealers, maintenance shops, and other third parties involved in the provision of labor, equipment, and other materials to our projects.
  • Will collaborate internally with Site Services Planner, the Supply Chain organization, project teams, legal counsel, insurance group, and other purchasing agents on sourcing, contracts, warranty and maintenance agreements and other matters.
  • Creating bid documents; identify and pre-qualify ample database of bidders and generate bidder interest on a project-by-project basis.
  • Negotiate & prepare contracts, PO's, consultant agreements & amendments.
  • Understand and have knowledge of trade jurisdictions (separation of work scopes)
  • Manage and Utilize the Master Bidders List
  • Expediting all contract documents sent out for execution.
  • Works closely with vendors, subcontractors, dealers, maintenance shops, Jobsite Personnel, supporting internal, external customers, and other third parties.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or related field 3-5 years of related business experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing orders, agreements, and execution of the scope of work with construction suppliers, sub-contractors or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient in public speaking and ability to lead large meetings with confidence Basic understanding of construction law, contract and risk management preferred.
  • Basic understanding of insurance
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with CMIC preferred.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Providence, RI and Glastonbury, CT this ranges from $65,800.00-$90,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Boston, MA and Arlington, VA this ranges from $73,400.00-$92,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
