Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist

$17.33 - $25.99 an hour - Full Time, Days. 40 hours a week.
$2.50 for weekend shifts.
Boulder Community health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant. The laboratory support staff at Boulder Community Hospital (BCH) are responsible for processing patient orders including patient relations (adult and pediatric), specimen procurement, specimen processing and transmission of results.
Along with the responsibilities included above are other responsibilities such as customer service, utilization of various computer systems, clerical duties and some technical procedures such as phlebotomy (venipuncture or capillary puncture), drug screen collection and breath alcohol testing.
All new support staff employees will enter as Level 1 support staff.

Qualifications :
- High school diploma or higher education required.
- Six months general hospital experience, or
- Graduation from a Medical Assistants program, or
- Graduation from a laboratory training program preferred.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for collection and processing of laboratory specimens.
- Able to perform phlebotomy procedures as required by position.
- Responsible for accurate data entry and reporting.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Performs laboratory testing including reporting of results and quality control in assigned areas of the laboratory.
- Urine Drug Screen collection.
- Breath Alcohol testing.
- Rapid Strep screens.
