Position :
As a member of the Group Benefits (middle-large groups) team, the Account Manager will assist the Producers with new business / renewals, and provide client support.
Responsibilities :
- Supports the Producer by gathering information on new and existing accounts, then submitting it to carriers or techs to get proposals.
- Reviews carrier proposals, advises the Producer, and prepares formal proposal presentations.
- Presents to clients when the Producer is unavailable.
- Manages workflow between internal staff, clients, and insurance carriers.
- Implements coverage changes as requested by customers.
- Ensures a smooth transition between insurance carriers.
- Conducts monthly service calls on all accounts and reports on them.
- Updates account information in the management system for carrier changes or renewals.
- Stays informed about carrier developments and relevant laws, and shares updates with clients and team members.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with insurance carriers to meet client needs and streamline business processing.
- Handles or refers all client requests as needed.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Life and Health license required.
- Familiarity with insurance products, rating procedures, coverage, and industry operations.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
- Intermediate computer skills needed : word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Experience with Epic agency management system is a plus.
