Job Summary The Student Coordinator for Administration and Programming (SCAP) position is a student leadership position with the Office of Student Housing.
The Student Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Office of Student Housing in the day-to-day Housing Office operations and functions.
In addition, the Student Coordinator provides leadership and guidance to Resident Advisors and Senior Resident Advisors in the fulfillment of their responsibilities and the development of an overall positive residential community on the Morehead State campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Schedule and be present for a total of 15 Office Hours each week in the Housing Office, at least 9 of which must be scheduled during hours when the Housing Office is closed· Assist Secretary Specialist in supervising and managing the Housing Office Resource Room, including regular inventory of materials and department assets, maintaining records of material usage, and making recommendations for additional resources and supplies· Develop and maintain department resources for Resident Advisors and Senior Resident Advisors for community engagement and development, including regular updates to digital resources on the Office of Student Housing Staff Sharepoint site· Assist with department tracking and assessment of residence hall community development activities and initiatives· Either individually or in collaboration with live-in student staff and / or department-sponsored student organizations, facilitate department-sponsored programming and events· Support Housing Office operations by completing essential administrative tasks, including processing mail, maintaining student files, updating department marketing communication channels, and assisting with student verification of residency as needed· Represent the department at university sponsored events as needed· Be available for and actively participate in required training, including at the beginning of each semester and in-service sessions throughout the academic year· Maintain positive relationships with residents and other staff members· Uphold and address behaviors with residents and / or staff that may be in conflict with written department or university policies, including providing appropriate documentation· Maintain university records in accordance with university policies and federal, state and local laws· Maintain and respond to regular lines of communication in a timely manner, including university email and department-issued phone· Serve on department committees as needed
