Support Broker Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate and skilled individual proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) to support a man with hearing impairment and developmental disabilities in effectively communicating with his support team.
The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring clear communication and understanding between the individual and his caregivers.
Responsibilities :
- Interpretation : Translate spoken language into ASL and vice versa to facilitate effective communication.
- Medical Support : Aid the individual's medical team in directly communicating with him using ASL.
- Expression : Assist the individual in expressing his needs, thoughts, and feelings to caregivers.
- Understanding : Help the individual comprehend instructions and interactions in his environment.
- Inclusive Environment : Foster a supportive atmosphere that improves communication for the individual.
Qualifications :
- Proficiency in ASL is a must.
- Previous experience working with individuals with hearing impairments and developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and empathy in caregiving.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
