Summary
The Hotel Revenue Manager will strategically coordinate the revenue management processes and procedures for the hotel to maximize revenue and profitability.
This is accomplished by managing and maintaining group and transient inventory controls, developing, monitoring, and adjusting sales and pricing strategies for all revenue areas, analyzing demand factors, forecasting, and budgeting, competitive analysis, and maintaining distribution channel data integrity.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify, communicate and execute opportunities to increase incremental revenue based on historical demand, regional, seasonal and competitive influences and market, group performance, price sensitivity by market segment, demand and reservation cost across multiple sales channels.
- Manage and maintain group and transient inventory controls including, but not limited to, room accommodation and rate inventory controls.
Work with the Sales and Marketing Leadership to manage sellout strategies and to maintain demand information.
- Conduct forecasting, review all competitive shops, review demand, convention and city event calendars, maintain data on competitor products and maintain historical data on events and performance.
- Research, identify and develop revenue management opportunities, techniques and practices that contribute to superior RevPAR growth and market share increase.
- Analyze trends by market segment based on day of week, booking window and season to better develop pricing strategies.
- Conduct a weekly revenue management meeting where the current 120-day booking period is evaluated for proper rate and availability control.
- Update channels of distribution as needed with rates or inventory restrictions.
- Receive all definite and tentative group bookings and provide the Director of Sales and Marketing with qualified analysis as to how each booking will impact occupancy, average rate and rooms profit over the dates in question.
- Responsible for the maintenance of any software programs which contribute to the management of revenue.
We’re Excited About You If You Have
- 5+ years of experience working in revenue and / or hotel operations
- Knowledge of hospitality sales and other revenue management functions to include research, planning, market positioning, market segments, internal marketing, distribution channels, sales management, reservations and yield management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability dynamically articulate and visually display data / strategies to various audiences.
- Must be able to condense complex data into meaningful strategy
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills,
- High energy and a positive attitude are a must. Guest service and team oriented
Required Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree, Revenue Management, Hotel Management or Business Administration
- Strong knowledge in spreadsheets, pivot tables and database use
- Duetto, OPERA, SynXis, Delphi,
Performance and supporting strategic decision-making to achieve the hotel's goals and objectives.
