Job Summary
The HR Director at Ascend plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s culture and driving its people strategy. This position is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, foster a positive workplace environment, and promote the company's mission.
As a strategic leader, the HR Director oversees all HR functions, including talent management, employee relations, organizational development, compliance, and compensation.
This role collaborates closely with executives and department heads to influence and drive key business decisions.

Essential Functions & Duties
- Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company’s overall business objectives to support growth and enhance business performance.
- Organizational Development : Lead organizational development initiatives, including succession planning, talent management, leadership development, and employee engagement programs.
- HR Metrics and Analytics : Monitor, analyze, and report on key HR metrics; use data-driven insights to influence decision-making and improve HR practices.
- Culture and Employer Branding : Promote a positive work environment, strengthen company culture, and enhance employer branding through employee engagement and recognition programs.
- Budget Management : Oversee the HR budget, including forecasting and managing costs associated with HR initiatives, programs, and benefits.
- Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure compliance with State and Federal employment laws; develop policies and procedures to mitigate organizational risk.
- Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution : Oversee complex employee relations issues, provide strategic guidance on conflict resolution, and support leadership with disciplinary actions.
- Compensation and Benefits Strategy : Develop and oversee compensation and benefits strategies that align with the company’s talent acquisition and retention goals.
- Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to drive cross-functional initiatives that support overall business performance.
- Training and Development : Design and deliver training programs on HR best practices, employment laws, and leadership development.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) : Champion DEI initiatives, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the company’s values.
- Travel : Occasional travel may be required to assist with the company objectives
Skills & Qualifications
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or SPHR / SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Experience : 5+ years of HR experience and ready to take the next step in your career.
- Strategic Thinking : Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business success.
- Analytical Skills : Strong proficiency in data analysis and HR metrics; ability to interpret data and use insights to influence decision-making.
- Leadership : Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing HR team.
- Change Management : Experience leading large-scale change management initiatives and driving organizational transformation.
- Communication : Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Interpersonal Skills : Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Problem-Solving : Ability to proactively identify and solve complex HR issues.
