Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW :
Performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic testing on all patients as ordered.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Performs clinical neurodiagnostic procedures including all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hr ambulatory EEG's, EMG / NVC testing in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policies / procedures. (40%)
- Demonstrates leadership, technical, and analytical skills for decision making. (15%)
- Participates in department projects, initiatives and continuing education. (15%)
- Completes all charges according to department guidelines. (10%)
- Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition, detects instrument malfunction, makes minor adjustments or reports need for major repairs. (20%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or one to two years of relevant experience and / or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
- Must become credentialed by American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) for the Registered Electrocochleographic Technologist (R.
EEG T) or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) for the Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (R.
ED T.) or the Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T) within one year.
Preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic program.
- EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.
- 3 - 5 years neurodiagnostic experience in a hospital or physician's office.
