This position is part of the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
Responsibilities Administers lifesaving procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other emergency first- aid procedures to stabilize patients.
Administers oxygen, IV fluid, oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications as prescribed. Administers medications and treatments authorized by a medical provider, such as, B-12 injections, vaccinations and allergy injections.
Performs point of care testing such as glucose, urinalysis, electrocardiograms, audiograms, and spirometry. Provide education and counseling to employees on health topics that comply with recent evidence base research.

2 - License : Licensure : For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
3- Specialized Experience To qualify for the PU-11 grade level : In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent of the PU-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Experience includes : Recognizing life threatening emergencies, initiating immediate stabilizing care and coordinating with emergency medical services for timely transport to a healthcare facility.
Ability to work autonomously, utilizing critical thinking skills while managing multiple tasks simultaneously AND Basic computer skills and the ability to operate an electronic medical records system.
- OR- A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
- OR- At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the PU-09 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program.
Must Have : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification . If you have an (ACLS) IN ADDITION to a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, please submit a copy.
