This senior level leadership position provides overall management, vision, and accountability for the division activities.
The position plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the work of the division and under minimal direction is responsible for developing and implementing division initiatives that support the Bureau of Transportation’s strategic goals.
As part of the management leadership team of Maintenance Operations this position is responsible for collaboration and coordination with other division managers to achieve organizational goals.
The position directs, plans, and manages the work of 100 employees : managers, supervisors, and field staff in a unionized public works environment.
The position is responsible for managing the division's budget, program accomplishments, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and City regulations and guidelines.
What you’ll get to do : Provide leadership, management, and oversight of the work and associated resources of the Street Systems Division which has a current budget $25+ million and 100 employees.
Plan, direct, and manage the supervisors, crews, equipment, materials, and budgets to ensure all assets in the division’s portfolio are maintained and in serviceable condition and meet all regulatory and Level of Service criteria.
Implement performance management systems to improve program delivery and productivity with a focus on quality control and quality assurance.
Ensure services are being delivered cost effectively, efficiently, and equitably.Develop metrics and key performance indicators, conduct program evaluation and trend analysis, monitor program delivery.
Develop and implement multi-year strategic plans; ensuring proper resource allocation to achieve the Bureau's mission and goals.
Implement comprehensive personnel management strategies to optimize safety, professionalism, and development of the workforce with a focus on citywide goals.
Contribute to transforming culture by creating a people centered organization, reviewing programs and processes through an equitable lens, and advocating for anti-racism.

Experience managing a unionized workforce.About the Division : The Street Systems Division is responsible for the pavement repair sections of the Maintenance Operations Group and primarily focuses on service and asset maintenance for the City.
The primary work performed in this division includes pothole response and repair, asphalt base repair, 2 grind and pavement repair, utility cut restoration, ADA corner ramp paving restoration.
