Position Summary
The senior heavy maintenance planner and buyer is responsible for supporting technical services with materials planning and quick response for aircraft parts, components, materials, tools, and supplies through company supply functions.
Directly responsible for purchasing, repair, and material support and logistic planning and execution to support Heavy Maintenance Visits (HMV), acquisition and modification programs.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage the initial provisioning and replenishment of parts, equipment, and supplies to support heavy maintenance operations, aircraft acquisitions, modification programs, and special projects.
- Execute and monitor purchase orders, repair orders, parts loans, and exchanges; Track shipments for purchased and repaired items required for HMV.
Provide status reports and notify maintenance of delays / issues in the procurement / repair of parts and materials.
- Review Engineering Orders for material requirements and develop a plan to support the implementation schedule.
- Convert planned maintenance activities into material ordering schedules.
- Ensure the airworthiness and conformity of aircraft parts and materials purchased, stored, handled, distributed, and repaired.
Ensures Federal Regulations and Company policies regarding quality documentation and trace are met.
- Participate in selection of vendor services, including freight movement and customs clearance and coordinate vendor approval with the Chief Inspector.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts. Monitor contract content regarding long term component repair service agreements.
- Coordinate payments with supply and repair vendors if not on payment terms. Work with Finance to establish credit terms with vendors.
- Monitor repair vendors throughout the repair process to ensure component repairs meet estimated timelines. Communicate and assist in addressing issues impacting delivery schedules.
- Manage the Repair Order program and related activities, including warranty administration and component exchange. Administer and track all warranty claims.
- Review and approve invoices for aircraft maintenance material purchases, component repairs, material borrows, pooling and loans.
Ensure Parts Borrowed process complies with company policy.
- Develop processes to increase efficiency, improve response times, and standardize materials handling and logistics actions.
- Provide AOG critical material support as required.
- Determine part number interchangeability and aircraft effectivity when necessary.
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering
Experience :
- 5-7 years of experience sourcing parts or parts repairs for aircraft / engines undergoing heavy maintenance with a focus on end-of-life aircraft.
- Extensive experience managing component repairs with Part 145 repair stations and MROs.
- Experience working with repair stations in the USA and internationally.
- Clear understanding of the regulatory requirements of approved parts and the documentation requirements for sourced parts / repairs.
Computer Skills :
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Expert level in Microsoft Excel and in preparing executive-level presentations
Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates
- Education : Master’s Degree
- Experience with maintenance information systems such as AMOS, Corridor, Veryon or similar platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
- Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs.
Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
Travel
Travel requirements are between 25 35%.

Hybrid based out of Bethany, OK or Temecula, CA
