RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will be responsible for providing customized wealth planning strategies to clients and prospects of Team Global at Morgan Stanley.
As a senior member of the team, the candidate will work closely with Private Wealth Advisors and analysts on the team as well as other professionals to develop and deliver comprehensive planning analyses to clients and prospects.
Work with the Team and clients directly to get a full understanding of a client’s goals and objectives and then delivers customized recommendations to the client / family in the form of a comprehensive Personal Wealth Analysis (PWA) or a Limited Scope Engagement.
The candidate will coordinate comprehensive and integrated planning across a wide array of customized solutions and recommendations including :
- Cash flow modeling and liquidity management
- Estate, gift, and generation skipping tax planning
- Income tax planning
- Retirement and educational tax planning
- Business succession planning
- Philanthropic and charitable planning
- Asset protection and risk management
- Executive compensation and benefits
- Family dynamics
- Insurance and annuity solutions
- Multi-jurisdictional and cross-border planning
- Participating in Client Development Meetings
- Actively seeking opportunities for value-added discussions with clients on relevant and timely wealth planning related strategies
- Providing intellectual capital internally and to clients through white papers and educational presentations
- Maintaining and developing relationships with planning attorneys, tax advisors, trust companies, etc.
Such coordination may involve other key areas of the firm including, but not limited to, trust, insurance, lending, retirement planning services, restricted and controlled securities, alternative investments and asset management in the overall client planning process.
The candidate will serve as a thought leader in the areas of tax, trust & estate planning broadly, and in order to promote business development efforts of the Team, generally these business development activities include :
- Participating in Client Development Meetings
- Actively seeking opportunities for value-added discussions with clients on relevant and timely wealth planning related strategies
- Providing intellectual capital internally and to clients through white papers and educational presentations
- Maintaining and developing relationships with planning attorneys, tax advisors, trust companies, etc.
Qualifications
- JD with at least 10 + years’ experience in trust and estate planning for high net worth individuals; other advanced degrees a plus
- Strong coaching and presentation skills
- A demonstrated commitment to both partnership and teamwork, and initiative to proactively address Financial Advisors and client situations as they arise
- Familiarity with financial services / wealth management industry an advantage
- Excellent listening, communication (both verbal and written), analytical and problem-solving skills Individual will have extensive interaction with clients and other Advisors

- Securities Industry Essential (SIE) exam (prior to joining)
- Series 7 and 66 licenses (within first 1-2 months)
Wage Transparency Statement : Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
