KeyResponsibilities :
- FinancialManagement :
- Overseethe operations of the accounting department including the design ofan organizational structure adequate for achieving the departmentsgoals and objectives.
- Manage the monthend andyearend close process.
- Ensure the timelyreporting of all monthly financialinformation.
- Support budget and forecastingactivities.
- Monitor and analyze department workto develop more efficient procedures and use of resources whilemaintaining a high level ofaccuracy.
- GeneralLedger :
- Overseeand ensure accurate and timely financial transactions arerecorded.
- Ensure the integrity of the generalledger including the chart of accounts.
- Performmonthly balance sheet income statement and changes in financialposition / budget varianceanalysis.
- InternalControls :
- Maintainand enforce a documented system of accounting policies andprocedures.
- Develop and maintain internalcontrol safeguards for the receipt of revenue costs and both teamand organizational budgets and actualexpenditures.
- Ensure compliance with allregulatoryrequirements.
- Audit :
- Coordinatethe preparation of annual financial statements in compliance withofficial guidelines and requirements.
- Supportand manage the annual auditprocess.
- TeamLeadership :
- Manageand mentor the accounting team.
- Providetraining to new and existing staff asneeded.
- Handle personnel issues relating tostaff conflicts absenteeism performance issuesetc.
- Reporting :
- Providefinancial analyses and reports as needed for managementstakeholders and external parties.
- Preparefinancial statements business activity reports financial positionforecasts budgets and / or reports required by regulatoryagencies.
- Assist the CFO in the annualbudgeting and planningprocess.
- StrategicPlanning :
- Participatein strategic planning and contribute to the development of thecompanys financial strategy.
- Provide insightsand recommendations to both shortterm and longterm growth plans oftheorganization.
- Compliance :
- Ensurecompliance with local state and federal government reportingrequirements and tax filings.
- Stay informedabout current legislation relating to finance andaccounting.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA orCMApreferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 710 years of progressive accounting experience includingat least 3 years in a managerialrole.
