Job Description Summary

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor in Audiology position.

Responsibilities include clinical teaching of students in the Doctor of Audiology (ASHA accredited) program, clinical outreach, and scholarship.

Candidates are also expected to participate in departmental and university committees and service activities. The university has a clinical career ladder for promotion as a faculty member exhibits professional productivity and develops local, regional, and national reputation within the field of Audiology.

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must hold their Doctor of Audiology (AuD) and CCC- A at the time of employment, have the ability to provide diagnostic and rehabilitative services for all types of auditory disorders and all ages, have 3-5 years’ clinical experience, and be eligible for Alabama licensure.

The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment;

excellent communication skills for instruction of audiology required. Desired Qualifications More than 5 years of clinical experience and minimum of two years of student supervision.

Desired clinical specialties include amplification, APD, and electrophysiological testing. Special Instructions to Applicants Applicants will need to attach vita, cover letter, transcripts, a minimum of 3 references, ASHA certification, and proof of CCC-A license.

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and has approximately 285 undergraduate majors, 50 graduate majors in speech-language pathology, and 40 doctor of audiology students.

Presently, the department has 17 full-time faculty positions. (10 PhD, 3 AuD, and 4 Master’s level.) The program offers a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology.

The department also offers a professional Doctor of Audiology degree and the Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.
