Entrepreneurial Carrier / MGA Underwriting Leader (Commercial Lines)

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial-minded Carrier / MGA / Program Underwriting leader with a strong business acumen to start-up and spearhead the growth of a new Managing General Agency (MGA).

This is an ideal role for someone passionate about building a business without the risk associated with leaving a salaried position.

Our client provides equity, full back-office support, capital, and resources to help scale your vision into a successful business.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the development and growth of a non-admitted, niche commercial lines MGA.

Work closely with the parent company to build your business, leveraging your existing underwriting experience and distribution network.

Oversee underwriting, product development, and strategies.

Manage the operational aspects, with full support from the company for compliance, technology, and administrative functions.

Drive profitability and business expansion while maintaining strategic oversight.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as an Underwriting leader, with a focus in either carrier programs, admitted or non-admitted, MGA / Wholesale Broker background in niche commercial lines products.

Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and develop and execute business plans.

A distribution network within the commercial lines space, ideally targeting niche commercial lines products.

Experience in building and managing small, high-performing teams.

A track record of business growth and leadership, with a desire to own equity in your business.
