We are looking for a Software Automation Engineer Intern (Summer ) who is interested in gaining real-world experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment at our Austin, TX location.

As a Software Automation Engineer Intern, you will work with senior Emerson Technology team mentors and industry experts.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :

  • Implement internal tools, prototypes of new functionality, or other projects related to Emerson product development
  • Perform design, code development, unit, and integration testing of your own or others’ software

Who You Are :

You foster a creative atmosphere, review and provide detailed feedback on peers’ test plans and test designs and participate in agile activities like sprint planning and retrospectives.

Take part in Hackathons, Tech-talks, and Communities of Practice with like-minded people. You develop technologies to maintain our market leadership using the latest tools and frameworks.

You help the team continuously improve its environment and processes. Write software tests in accordance with requirements and specifications and use best practices to build in high-quality.

Help debug and validate software issues on the latest and greatest unreleased products as well as those encountered by customers.

For This Role, You Will Need :

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college / university entering either their Junior or Senior graduate year
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
  • Experience and interest in programming, including C++, C, Java, Python, Linux, HTML, CSS, PHP / SQL, Visual Studio
  • Courses in and experience with software design and implementation, object-oriented design
