Construction Administrator - Wood Construction

Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and coordinating wood construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Coordination :
- Manage and oversee all phases of wood construction projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Schedule and conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and reports.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Track and report on project milestones, budget adherence, and resource allocation.
- Budget Management :
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Quality Control :
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction quality and adherence to project specifications.
- Identify and resolve any construction defects or issues promptly.
- Implement quality assurance procedures and standards.
- Safety Compliance :
- Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety audits and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
- Address and rectify any safety concerns or violations.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management :
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate and select subcontractors based on their qualifications and performance.
- Client Communication :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and project delivery.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction administration, with a focus on wood construction.
- In-depth knowledge of wood construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Valid Florida driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- A good working knowledge of Life Safety, Building Envelope and Accessibility best-practices, and industry standards, is also required.
- Applicant will be expected to work closely with the Owner / Developer, General Contractor and Sub-Contractors, as well as with the entire Design Team
Preferred Qualifications :
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
- Experience with green building practices and sustainable construction methods.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and REVIT
- Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)
