SUMMARY
Andersen is seeking a Senior Benefits Design Specialist to join our Benefits Design and Wellbeing team within Total Rewards.
This role will be responsible for leading the design, evaluation, implementation, compliance, and communication of assigned benefit plans, managing vendors, and collaborating with internal and external partners.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design, evaluation, recommendation and implementation of assigned benefit plans, programs, and plan components.
Collaborate with internal and external vendors, consultants, and partners to create, evaluate, and implement competitive benefit programs.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for plan interpretation and complex issue resolution of assigned plans. Effectively partner with the benefits administration team, legal, finance, business leaders, corporate communications and external vendors on benefit plan operations, complex issues and implementation of new programs, plans, and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to assigned benefit plans. Work closely with legal, vendors and the consultant on benefit contracts, SPDs, SMMs, and other legal documents.
- Independently manage relationships with assigned vendors to ensure oversight for performance, service level agreements and scorecard delivery.
- Supports various projects, communications, open enrollment content review and testing. Educates and presents to internal partners, HR and other groups on assigned benefit plans, changes, and open enrollment.
- Compiles and participates in benefit surveys, performs benefit comparisons, and conducts researching and benchmarking on new benefit trends.
Leads annual benefits metrics dashboard and helps facilitate semi-annual vendor summit meetings.
- Plays key, collaborative role in negotiating benefits during union contract negotiations - evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations to leadership, and presents proposals to the union (if applicable).
- MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- BA / BS degree in HR or related field with at least 5 years experience in benefit plan design or administration.
- Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Strong analytical, statistical, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze information and present data to support management decision-making.
- Ability to communicate and interact with HR, Finance, and IT. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as detail orientation.
- Broad understanding of employee benefits practices (ERISA, health and welfare benefit plans, processes and administration, including financial analysis and budgeting)

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
