Application Support Engineer

Genesis10 is seeking an Application Support Engineer for a 6-month contract position with a leading client located in Cleveland, OH; Albany, NY; or Buffalo, NY (Hybrid – must be within a 35-mile footprint of one of these locations). This is a hybrid role. Summary : The Shared Services Technology team is seeking a highly skilled Application Support Engineer to support HR, Procurement, and Accounts Payable applications. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the performance, stability, and continuous improvement of multiple business-critical environments and platforms. Pay Range : $45.00 - $55.00 / hr Responsibilities : Own the design, development, implementation, assessment, and support of multiple environments, applications, and platforms within HR, Procurement, and Accounts Payable lines of business. Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of applications, actively working to resolve system issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Embrace mentorship and training from senior engineers, contributing to team knowledge growth. Provide continuous improvement ideas to reduce costs and enhance efficiency. Stay current on application releases, features, and best practices, providing recommendations for adoption. Ensure all resolutions and implementations comply with information security standards. Evaluate and assess the technical viability of new and emerging products and technologies. Develop and maintain technical documentation, requirements specifications, and architecture diagrams. Identify and help establish standards and best practices for supported technology areas. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience : Minimum of 3+ years of application development or support experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic understanding of Unix programming and Oracle. Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies, including automated testing and test-driven development.
