Director of Alums Engagement
Westtown School seeks an experienced Director of Alums Engagement. Reporting to the Dean of Advancement, The Director is responsible for developing and executing mission-aligned programming and communications to promote and increase meaningful, impactful engagement and deepen a lifelong commitment to supporting the School.
Westtown School is an independent, Quaker co-educational, pre-K to 12 college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direction, guidance, and support for the Westtown Alums Association board to produce measurable outcomes;
- In collaboration with Advancement colleagues and with departments throughout the School, manage the planning and execution of the annual Alums Weekend event;
- Research, implement, manage, and evaluate engagement opportunities that serve to strengthen and deepen connections with the School and that support the school's strategic vision and mission;
- Regularly engage and inform constituents in a strategic, innovative, and personal manner through personal visits, events, print publications, social media, and other forms of communication (e.
- g. the Westonian, periodic newsletters, digital messaging, alums portals and platforms, etc.);
- Collaborate with Advancement Office colleagues to identify new prospective donors and solicit annual financial support from a portfolio including members of the Westtown Alums Association Board and other constituents;
- Meet or exceed visit and fundraising metrics;
- Refine and expand tools and metrics to measure effectiveness and track engagement;
- Oversee the alums office budget;
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred;
- Four or more years of experience in alum engagement / advancement preferred;
- Experience working in an independent school environment or similar organization is preferred;
- Ability to work independently, innovate, collaborate, and take initiative;
- Results-oriented, with the ability to respond and adapt to changing situations appropriately;
- Ability to develop and manage effective volunteer systems;
- Ability to strategize, implement, and evaluate engagement activities,
- Curiosity and analytical thinking; complex problem-solving ability; openness to new ideas;
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail and accuracy;
- meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficient with the Google Suite; proficiency with Raiser's Edge software preferred;
- Ability to work evenings and weekends is required;
- A valid driver's license is required.
