Description

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of MD’s Part 145 repair & overhaul facility and Part 21 new spare parts manufacturing facility.

Manage and lead technicians who build, assemble, repair, and overhaul subcomponents of the MD product family. Continuously improves assigned processes to ensure the quality of products and services by enforcing applicable Company policies, standard practices, and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Reports on desired goals and established budgets.
  • Brief internal management on technical, schedule or operational matters.
  • Supports the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
  • Key contributor and mentor in on the job training (OJT) for team members.
  • Prepares and delivers progress and status reports to department manager.
  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls delivery schedules for production, spares, and repair and overhaul.
  • Monitors material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved material timed to meet schedule requirements.
  • Reviews and transmits inspection findings to customer service personnel.
  • Review incoming paper work, , SOR and component records.
  • Lead team in developing improved processes and solving scheduling problems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area.
  • Establish training programs to continually upgrade employees technical capabilities and knowledge of governing procedures regulations requirements
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of both the Aftermarket and production assemblies.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;

rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive understanding of FAR’s, Part 21 and Part 145 Repair Station activities.
  • Experience with composite manufacturing and tooling is a plus.
  • Technical and working knowledge of the Component Overhaul Manual 5 (COM 5),
  • Technical and working knowledge of the Handbook of Maintenance Instruction (HMI)
  • Technical and working knowledge of Repair Station Procedures
  • Proficiency with JD Edwards systems, a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of Production procedures, Company Instructions (CI) Company Procedures (CP), and Blue prints.
  • Understanding of Lean Principals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), a plus.
  • Familiarization of AS9110, AS9100 and company quality processes and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, engineering drawing and technical publications.
  • The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite : Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team.
  • Access to Export Control Information.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required and 3-5 years work-related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
