Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is a private member-owned club, recognized as a Platinum Club® of America, located in the Town of Orchid, just north of Vero Beach, and beautifully situated on 600 acres from the ocean to the river.
Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is seeking a Housekeeper. You will be afforded the ideal opportunity to put your housekeeping skills to work in a beautiful environment and friendly atmosphere, which is just steps away from the white sand beach and the Audubon-certified golf course designed by the legend, Arnold Palmer.
This position is responsible for cleaning all facilities of Orchid Island.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to :
- Stock cart and hand caddy.
- Strips and remakes beds with fresh linen; changes mattress pads and blankets, if needed.
- Empties wastebaskets and ashtrays.
- Wipes all window sills, walls and light switches.
- Vacuums rugs and floors.
- Dusts all furniture and fixtures.
- Wipes mirrors and windows.
- Cleans and sanitizes toilets.
- Washes tiles, tub, shower walls and fixtures.
- Clean shower doors and curtains
- Clean sink and fixtures.
- Cleans walls, baseboards and floor.
- Restocks towels, wash cloths, soap, glasses and other supplies and amenities.
- Vacuums hallways.
- Cleans all common areas, offices, lounges, guard houses, breakrooms, etc.
- Washes, dries and folds laundry.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

Qualifications :
- One year of comparable work preferred.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and communicate basic English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have valid Florida driver's license.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
- Able to read and understand SDS sheets and recognizes precautions for each authorized chemical that may be used
- Able to read and understand directions for operating machines and recognizes when a machine is not functioning properly
- Knowledge about maintaining, cleaning and preserving a wide variety of
- Follows instruction regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
- Maintain constant oral and written communication
- Willing to work independently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements :
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock;
and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling. Frequent repetitive motions. Uses ladders as needed.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Job has the potential to expose the employee to human blood pathogens or infectious materials.
- Requires regular in-person attendance.
