Job Title : Staff Accountant

Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for analyzing assigned accounts, preparing journal entries, preparing accounting reports, and participating in period-end closing and reporting activities for the Auto Castings business.

Essential Job Functions include the following :

• Analyzes GL entries for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards
• Reviews assigned accounts, prepares journal entries, reviews accuracy, and investigates variances
• Assists Sr. Finance Manager with fiscal period-end closing and reporting activities
• Distributes monthly financial reports and assists with preparation of annual financial reports
• Reconciles physical inventory results to internal inventory records
• Prepares inventory status reporting for weekly inventory meetings
• Prepares and validates supplier credits
• Supports on-site physical counts of inventory
• Assists Senior Finance Manager in preparation of annual budget, monthly forecast, and long-term planning
• Provides monthly and quarterly accounting reports for management review
• Responds to information requests from management, internal and external auditors
• Processes A / P and A / R functions, . vendor debits and credits

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Novi, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment

Monday to Friday, 8-5pm, Hybrid schedule. Reporting to Director of Finance, small team of 3 locally and large Accounting team as backup at HQ in NYC.
