HR Manager - Onsite

Our quality products have a heritage dating back to the early 1800’s at the Hempler’s family sausage kitchen in Borken, Germany.
Hans Hempler worked in the family sausage business in Germany as a youngster. He served as an apprentice sausage maker and learned first-hand the family’s old secret recipes becoming a master sausage maker before moving to the United States.

The human resources management position is responsible for leading the business in the effective development and delivery of Human Resources management and programs.
Responsibilities include overseeing talent and performance management, employee relations, labor strategy, job specific and developmental training, human resources systems, benefits, diversity, employee records, and HR related legal compliance.
This position strategically partners with the Leadership Team, Finance and Administration, and Operations to position the plant for success and continuous improvement.
SCHEDULE : Monday Friday 8 : 00am 5 : 00pm
Wage : $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually, subject to all required taxes and withholdings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provides leadership and management for the plant Human Resources team and function, supervising one or more direct reports.
Develops and administers human resources plans, processes, and procedures for plant employees.
- In conjunction with the company-wide Human Resources team, develops and administers Company HR programs, policies, procedures, and practices.
- Develops plant HR goals and objectives that align with and support the plant’s strategic goals.
- As part of the leadership team, plans and implements organizational changes with a focus on ensuring accepted and effective employee communications.
- Develops strategies to promote positive employee relations. Establishes and implements employee programs and promotes a climate of trust, cooperation, and confidence.
- Provides coaching, mentoring, and consulting services to managers and employees.
- Manages the performance review process. Coach managers in performance management, reviewing performance, communicating performance expectations, and addressing performance issues.
- Manages Company benefit programs for the plant, ensuring employees understand and access their benefit options.
- Manages recognition and reward programs for plant employees. Coordinates annual and special recognition and celebration events.
Manages service award program.
Develops, establishes, and delivers training and development programs for managers and the general employee population.
Provides managers with training to ensure compliance with fair employment labor laws and regulations.
- Establishes and maintains accurate employment records that fulfill legal, corporate and general business requirements. Ensures the workplace is compliant with government regulations.
- Provides project leadership on select manufacturing work teams.
- Supports the plant’s safety and risk management programs.
- Generates management reports from HRIS system and completes analysis
- Attend functional department team meetings
- Participates in annual HR planning
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business or related field required or equivalent experience.
- PHR / SPHR / SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP Certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years previous Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of Human Resources business standards, practices, policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to, Benefits, FMLA, COBRA, FLSA, ADA, ERISA, HIPPA, Workers’ Compensation and 401(k) plans. HR Generalist level.
- Microsoft Office computer software applications at a medium to expert user level.
- Well-developed writing skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Spanish as a second language a plus.
- Strong natural leadership skills.
